Certified Dog Trainer Maura Porter, CPDT-KA has years of experience with positive reinforcement training and techniques with dogs of all breeds. She is the Canine Manager at the Quincy Animal Shelter and has volunteered at several area animal shelters where (in all honesty) the best training in the world can be found, with the dogs who need it the most. Maura is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator and a Dog BONES of Massachusetts therapy dog certification instructor.
About
Our mission is to extend no-force training into the "strong breed" world of dog training. We will take our experience with large breed dogs and adapt that to fit the needs of the client and his or her dog. We do basic training as well as more advanced command work, however the majority of our canine clients are low confident, reactive, and nervous dogs who comes across as aggressive but who are really just scared. We work with the owners to change the underlying behaviors. Training is an important part of dog ownership and having a support system you can trust, in the form of your trainer, is vital.

What is “Stay and Train”?
Well when you are heading off on a vacation, instead of sending your dog to a kennel or a board and train facility, your dog stays in your home and Clear Skies stays there with your dog and gives the dog daily training lessons. The lessons will be tailored to your dog’s needs. It provides you with peace of mind knowing your dog is safe and comfortable in his or her home and in addition the pup will gain training skills or behavior modification.
